Installing Synthetic Grass

Steps

  1. Measure the area. Frame the area with a 2"x4" edging. Leave a 1/8" space between edging and existing hardscape.
  2. Remove 2-3" of soil. Tamp.
  3. Install a base of either Decomposed Granite, Road Base, Pea Gravel, or a combo. Tamp.
  4. Lay a root barrier over entire area.
  5. Place the turf, which will probably require seaming two or more sections together. Tuck edges in space between edging and hardscape.
  6. Install fill material (various sands, small rocks, stone dust and compounded earth that help keep your grass blades rooted and lifted)
